What should I do before my piercing appointment?

Please eat within a few hours of your appointment, arrive on time and bring the correct identification. Do not use numbing cream or other numbing agents on the piercing area within 24 hours of your appointment, and avoid attending under the influence of alcohol or other substances.

What identification do I need for a piercing appointment?

The identification required depends on your age and the piercing service being booked. Please review The Piercing Urge’s ID and age information before your appointment to ensure you bring the correct documentation.

Can I get pierced while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. The Piercing Urge does not perform piercing services during pregnancy or while a client is breastfeeding. Please wait until you are eligible before booking an appointment.

When should I contact The Piercing Urge before booking?

Contact the studio before booking if you have recently removed jewellery from the same area, had surgery near the piercing site, undergone earlobe repair or another reconstructive procedure, recently had filler or Botox in the area, or use hormone replacement therapy in connection with nipple or genital piercings.

Can I get pierced after having surgery or cosmetic treatment?

Recent surgery, reconstructive procedures, filler, Botox or other cosmetic treatments near the piercing site may affect whether it is safe to proceed. Contact The Piercing Urge before booking so the team can assess your circumstances.

What happens if I arrive late to my piercing appointment?

Your service may be declined if you arrive more than 10 minutes late. Arriving late may leave insufficient time to complete the consultation and piercing safely, and cancellation charges may apply.

What is the cancellation policy for piercing appointments?

A cancellation fee applies if you cancel with less than 12 hours’ notice or do not attend your appointment. The fee is based on the appointment length and ranges from $25 for shorter appointments to $100 for appointments lasting 100 to 120 minutes.

Why are card details required when booking?

Card details are collected to secure your appointment. Your card will only be charged if the late-cancellation or no-show policy applies.

Can I book a piercing that is not listed online?

Do not book a different service as a substitute. Contact The Piercing Urge before booking to confirm whether the requested piercing is offered and which appointment type you should select.

Pre-booking information

Experience has taught us that even small details can make a big difference to your appointment, your healing, and your safety. That's why we've brought together everything we need every client to know before booking. Taking a few minutes to read it now helps ensure your appointment can go ahead as planned.

We may decline your service if you:

Arrive more than 10 minutes late.
Decide against getting pierced during your appointment.
Fail to provide correct identification or meet the age requirement. More information about this can be found here.
Are under the influence of substances.
Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Have used isotretinoin (Accutane) within the past 6 months.
Have used numbing cream or other numbing agents at the piercing site in the past 24 hours.
Have not eaten within a few hours before your appointment.
Are exhibiting rude or inappropriate behaviour towards staff or in the studio.
Book a piercing service we do not offer. If the desired service is not listed, please contact us before booking.

To ensure your appointment proceeds smoothly and to avoid cancellation charges, please carefully review the above reasons we would need to decline service on the day of your appointment.

Contact us before booking if you have:

Had a piercing/jewellery removed from the same area within the past 2 months.
Had surgery at or near the piercing site, including cosmetic surgeries such as rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, etc. within the past 12 months.
Had reconstructive and restorative surgeries at or near the piercing site, such as earlobe repair, within the past 12 months.
Recent filler, Botox, or other cosmetic procedures in the piercing area.
Used hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in conjunction with nipple and genital piercings.

Certain conditions may impact your ability to be safely pierced. If any of these apply to you, contact us prior to booking so we can evaluate your situation in relation to your piercing request. Failure to do so could result in cancellation charges if any of the items listed impact your ability to get pierced on the day.

No-shows and late cancellations:

We value your time, and ours. When you book an appointment with us, that time is set aside just for you. Late cancellations or no‑shows mean we’re unable to offer that spot to someone else.

If you cancel with less than 12 hours notice, or don’t attend your appointment, a cancellation fee will apply.

Your card details are collected at the time of booking and will only be charged if this policy applies.

Fees are based on the length of your appointment:

$25 for 15-30 minutes
$50 for 45-60 minutes
$75 for 75-90 minutes
$100 for 100-120 minutes
