Behind every exceptional result at The Piercing Urge is a team of highly trained professionals. Our most experienced piercers are mentors, educators, and the people even other studios call when things get tricky. They’ve spent years refining their technique, and they lead by example every day.
Everyone on our team is constantly learning. Whether it’s through hands on work, educational classes, or in studio mentorship, growth is part of the culture here. We don’t believe in shortcuts. We believe in doing things right, from the first consult to the final healed result.
What holds all of us together is a shared standard of leading with safety and treating every client with care. We’re not here to rush people through the process. We’re here to make sure each person feels safe, respected, and informed about their experience.
Suzanne is one of the most specialised piercers working in Australia today. She began piercing in 2012, joined The Piercing Urge in 2015, and took ownership of the studio in 2023, building a depth of technical and anatomical knowledge that few in the industry reach. Her work centres on advanced piercings, including nipple and genital piercings across all genders and anatomies, alongside complex cases where a client's anatomy, scar tissue, or surgical history means the work needs careful planning and real skill to do safely.
What she's built around her matters just as much as her own work. Suzanne chooses her team deliberately, looking for piercers who are highly skilled and naturally talented, who bring integrity to how they work, and who truly care about doing things properly. She pours herself into mentoring every member of that team, so the standard of care, safety, and knowledge runs through the whole studio, not just her own appointments. Whoever you book with at The Piercing Urge, you're genuinely in the best hands, and that is entirely by design.
Suzanne is currently serving an elected term on the Board of Directors of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP), the largest and most respected health, safety, and education organisation in the global piercing industry. She reached the board after years of passionately volunteering on APP committees and projects and teaching at international conferences. It's a role that also built on her five years on the Board of the Australasian United Professional Piercers (AUPP), where she helped build community, safety and industry advancement across Australia and New Zealand.
Having spent years piercing and managing the studio before making it her own, Suzanne now leads The Piercing Urge with a clear and confident vision: to honour everything it has stood for while taking it somewhere even bigger.
Adam has been piercing since 2008, and if you ask around the industry, his name comes up often. Known for his laid back energy, expert hands, and a sharp sense of humour, Adam brings nearly two decades of experience to every appointment. His style is relaxed, but his standards are high.
He’s an expert in complex custom work. From custom industrials to bespoke components, layered chains, and intricate multi piece designs that most piercers wouldn’t even attempt. He has powerful technical ability, and his clients know they’re in the hands of someone who doesn’t just follow trends. He solves problems, refines details, and creates pieces that feel both expressive and engineered.
Beyond the studio, Adam is a multi time educator at national conferences, a long time Australasian United Professional Piercers (AUPP) volunteer, and a trusted mentor to many in the industry. He’s always been the kind of piercer others turn to for guidance, troubleshooting, and real talk about what quality actually means.
His approach is simple. Set clear expectations, deliver more than you promised, and never take yourself too seriously. Clients describe his energy as “dad vibes”, approachable, honest, and quietly elite.
Also yes, that was him on Taskmaster Australia. Ask him about it if you want a laugh. Or don’t, he probably brought memes either way.
Kahlil didn’t fall into piercing by accident. He fought for it, patiently and persistently. After spending over a year trying to land an apprenticeship at The Piercing Urge, he joined the team in 2023. Since then he’s been dedicated and focused, absorbing knowledge fast and putting it to work with attention to precise details.
Clients trust him for his calm energy, clean technique, and dry sense of humour, often delivered right before a piercing to break the nerves. He’s dedicated to learning, developing and implementing the safest and highest quality practice, which is evident to any client who works with him.
Kahlil is especially interested in bold placements, solid jewellery, and the kind of piercings people still love ten years from now. He brings a deep respect for the history of body modification, a low tolerance for nonsense, and an energy that says: I’m here to do this right.
And outside the studio, he’s into sword fighting. Which feels about right.
Some piercers you can just tell have it. Zirong is one of them. She started her career with an apprenticeship in Japan in 2024, and brings a precise hand and an instinctive eye for placement and anatomy that's rare to find in a body piercer. She joined The Piercing Urge in 2026, drawn here to work with the best quality jewellery, supplies, and practices, alongside a team that genuinely looks out for one another.
Zirong cares about getting things right. She'll take the time to help you choose the right piece, talk you through your piercing, and make sure you leave knowing exactly how to care for it so it heals well. Her favourite work is oral piercings, lips and tongue especially, where people get to express their individual personality. Clients feel genuinely looked after in her chair, and there's a quiet, generous warmth to her that comes through in every appointment.
She speaks Mandarin, Japanese, and English, and brings a warmth to every appointment that clients remember long after they leave.
Lola may not be the one installing your jewellery, but chances are, she’s the reason it arrived in the first place. As the mastermind behind quotes, custom orders, and jewellery logistics at The Piercing Urge, Lola is the force keeping everything in motion. She’s the one who knows every hinge size, gem cut, and catalogue quirk by heart and she can tell you (with love) whether a custom piece is realistic, or a fantasy best left unmade.
With a brain full of gemstone colour theory and a soft spot for anything green (but not just any green), Lola is the team’s go-to for sourcing brilliance. She manages complex orders, liaises with suppliers, and builds every quote with intention. She balances her deep jewellery knowledge with just the right amount of dry humour and cryptid energy. She might not always be on the floor, but her work shapes an important part of the client experience.
Her love for this work is obsessive in the best way, whether she’s unboxing new arrivals, doing back end data input with secretarial speed, or chasing the elusive Morbius bat charm from BVLA. She’s a creature of detail and ritual, someone who can make even the most admin heavy task feel like magic.
Outside of work, Lola’s aesthetic is shaped by tattoos, bats, bugs, and video games, with a healthy dose of mischief. She lovingly refers to herself as the studio cryptid: mostly unseen, very essential, and quietly hoarding sapphires somewhere in the walls.
At The Piercing Urge, we hold ourselves to a higher standard, because your experience matters. Every decision we make is carefully considered, from the way we pierce to the way we treat people.
Our reputation wasn't claimed, it was earned. Through decades of consistent work, attention to detail, and care that never cuts corners.
If you're here, you're already looking for something better.
This is where you’ll find it.
